We Do Shellac and So Much MORE!!

We've gotten a few calls, asking if we do "Shellac". Yes, we do Shellac, which is a CND product, but we also do so much more! We do the Magic Manicure, which we describe as a polish and soak off gel or glitter and soak off gel, that gives your natural nails a little extra oompf, to protect and grow as well as keep your manicure chip free for 2 weeks or longer. We call our service Magic Manicure, first, because it is MAGIC and most importantly, because we didn't want to limit ourselves to using one product line for this service. We actually use many. This was a very fun promotion that we ran and we thank you all for your wonderful photos!! The voting ended last night, right before midnight. We are pleased to announce the winners, YES, we said winners!!!

This contest was originally for Glitter Toes, and we had three photos that garnered a lot of votes, so we are awarding three places!

In third place, with 45 votes is Ashley Densmore! She wins a $10 gift certificate!

We have also had some clients, who do not get Glitter Toes, for whatever reason, ask if they can send in photos of their Glitter Nails. We said, ABSOLUTELY!

Where Have YOUR Glitter Toes Been This Summer?

Sara, a Purple Pinkie client, sent us a photo on Facebook that said "Where are your Glitter Toes? Outerbanks!!" We thought, what a great idea!!! So we have a new contest for you!

Between now and Labor Day, send us your pictures of what YOUR Glitter Toes have been up to! Have they been on vacation? Went to a concert? Visited an amusement park? Have fun with it and be creative!! We will be awarding a $50 gift certificate to one lucky winner! Details of how the winner will be chosen will soon be decided. We may just pick a winner, randomly, like we always have OR we may have a competition where the photo with the most "likes" wins! You will just have to wait and see!

At Home Foot Care

We get people all of the time, who want us to "CUT" off their calluses. Cutting them off isn't really permitted in the State of PA, and to be honest, cutting them off makes them worse in the end. Regular maintenance of our feet will leave them looking as good as new.

Calluses are formed for a reason. They are there to protect the body. It is never a good idea to cut them off or remove them, they will only grow back and when they do, they will be thicker. Your best defense is to regularly reduce and smooth them, making them look better.

Every girl should have a foot file in their shower. After you are finished showering, the last thing you should do is use the file on your heels and then use it on your calluses. Most of us have the big ones on the inner ball of the foot and the big toe.

You should never file too much. If it hurts, stop. Less is best. By filing after you shower, the callus has been softened by the warm water and this is the most optimal time to do your filing. Be sure to wash your file off before you hang it up to dry. And for goodness sakes, don't use a Ped-Egg, it's like using a cheese grater on your feet and your callus will GROW.

When you get out of the shower, be sure to dry your feet, including between your toes. Most people never dry their feet or toes.
Now is the time to moisturize your feet, right after you've exfoliated them. The best product that I have found for use on feet is Mary Kay's Extra Emollient Night Cream. It is really thick and greasy, a little pricey, but it works and one tube goes a long way. It also works best on moist skin. Take a dime-sized amount and rub it into the entire bottoms of your feet, making sure to get the sides, heels and really work it into those calluses.

Start regularly exfoliating and moisturizing your feet and you will see a difference. No more need to hide those feet in shame!

Children in the Salon

Any child that comes to The Purple Pinkie must be supervised by an adult who is NOT getting a service at all times. The salon is small and not equipped for entertaining small children. You are NOT getting a good service when you are twisting in your chair constantly, trying to see what your child is doing in the other room. We are NOT providing a good service to you when we are constantly watching out of the corner of our eye to make sure your child isn't drinking acetone or smacking their head off of our glass shelving. Finally, some of your fellow clients, getting services, come to the salon to escape THEIR children, they don't want to listen to and watch your child.

We thank you for your cooperation, remember, if you must bring your child with you to your appointment, please be sure to bring an adult with you.

Summer Hours

During Prom Madness month, we added extra days and hours to keep up with all of you who wanted appointments. We are pleased to announce that we have actually kept those extra days and hours and plan to for the summer. We will now be open Tuesday - Saturday, by appointment only. We would love to do walk-ins, but we just don't have any open slots to do them!

Even though we have added days and hours, all four of us are usually pretty booked up. We do get cancellations, though, so if you don't already have an appointment, please call 724-763-7767 or text 724-664-3551 to get on the cancellation list. We just need to know what service you would like and what days/times you are looking for.

Don't be at the mercy of the cancellation list! Book your appointments ahead! That is the easiest way to ensure that you are not disappointed! Please note that booking appointments for multiple services or for multiple people in the evening hours is very difficult. You will most likely have to book single services/appointments.

Prom 2011 Highlights!

We've made it through another prom season! Prom lasted four weeks this year and included six local dances and we also did some girls from Leechburg, Kiski and a few other out of the area schools! WOW! You girls kept us rocking!

Here are the highlights of weeks 1 and 2, which include Lenape Vo-Tech's prom, Ford City's prom and Ford City Junior High Spring Fling!!

You Get What You Pay For....

This is a GOOD-QUALITY, set of nails that are straight and balanced!

Have you visited a salon and wanted a service and were thrilled because the service was a lot cheaper than somewhere else? Did you leave disappointed? Well, you aren't alone. We've been hearing about a lot of disappointment lately and we've been fixing a lot of shoddy work.

Did you want glitter toes and when you left your glitter toes weren't even shiny? Were your toes just polished with a glitter polish or regular polish and glitter was spinkled on them? We've seen both cases.

Did you want a full set of glitter nails and you were polished with a glitter polish instead of having glitter or colored acrylic used on you? We've seen this and fixed this for people.

Did you get a color on the tip of your nail and the color was applied straight across, not in a "smile" line. Are your nails smirking instead of smiling? We've seen a lot of this.

Did you leave with nails that fan out really bad at the ends? Nails should be STRAIGHT at the sides, they should not flare out. We've been fixing LOTS of these nails.

Did you leave with nails that are way too long for you? We've fixed a lot of these nails too. General rule of thumb is your nails shouldn't be any longer than half of what the nail bed (pink area of your nail) is. If they are any longer, they are unbalanced and you will have problems with them.

Moral of the story is........don't go for cheap. They are cheap for a reason. Why spend money on cheap nails and then have to pay to have them fixed. Get them done right the first time. It saves you money in the long run!

Open Toe Shoe Pledge

Alright ladies, it's that time of year once again!!! I think we need to be reminded of a few things. So my sisters, PLEASE, raise your big toes and repeat after me below....

As a member of the Cute Girl Sisterhood, I pledge to follow the Rules when wearing sandals and other open-toe shoes:

-I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.

-I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe.

-I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow.<<<--- EW!

-I will shave the hairs off my big toe.

-I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker, mother,sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there.

-If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back into place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it.

-I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr. Scholl's if my feet need him.

-I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low, low price of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat and I would hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle.

-I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and begin to look like Vienna sausages.

-I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/coworker when she asks me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell her that her toes are as long as my fingers and no sandal makes creepy feet look good.

-I will promise if I wear flip flops that I will ensure that they are actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.

-I will promise to go to The Purple Pinkie at least once per season and have a real Spa Pedicure or Glitter Toes

-I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show signs of wear... nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals.

We have had a lot of new clients lately and unfortunately, a lot of them have been no-showing and cancelling at the last minute. Our friend, Holly, The FingerNailFixer created a great way to explain WHY we have a Cancellation/No Show Policy and WHY it is going to be strictly enforced in 2011. No more "Get Out of Jail Free Cards"

Broken Appointments

When you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, four people lose:

1. YOU, the client, do not receive the nail service and care that you need, which may result in service breakdown and costly repairs.

2. Other clients WHO NEED NAIL SERVICE AND CARE could not be seen because we scheduled that time for you exclusively.

3. OUR SALON loses because the nail professional that you were scheduled with is idle during your appointment time.

4. THE NAIL PROFESSIONAL loses because they are paid on commission. When they don't work, they don't earn a commission. Imaging showing up for work and being told "Sorry, between 1 and 2 we don't have any work for you to do. We previously HAD work for you to do, but the work didn't show up"

We schedule your time with us JUST FOR YOU. When you do not show up, or cancel with less than 6 hours notice, many people are affected. We can not find a client to fill your broken appointment on short notice and, as a result, you will be charged a fee, equal to half the amount of your missed appointment, which must be paid up front when making another appointment. If you NO SHOW an appointment, your fee will be 100% of the service missed.

Six hours notice to cancel or change an appointment is more than reasonable. Most salons and doctors offices require 24 hours notice.

We trust that you will be here for the time we have scheduled just for you. Thank you for allowing us to care for your nails and for being so understanding in this matter.

Diary of a Former Nail Biter

Cheryl was a nail biter. A severe one. So bad, that he nails, when we would get them to grow, would grow upwards in a ski slope shape. She originally wanted acrylics, but was not successfull with them due to how her nails were growing up. For awhile, we switched her to party nails (temporary full nails) that we replaced every two weeks. Well sometimes she would just get the urge to pick them off.

Finally, one day, I suggested that she try a Magic Manicure with glitter. She was not keen on the idea since you can't add any length with the Magic Manicure. I begged her to try it and to let her natual nails grow in, with the promise that when they did grow in long enough, I would do acrylics on her once again.

Well...............Magic Manicure is just what she needed. She no longer wants acrylics because she gets all she wanted and more with Magic Manicure. Bonus - since the product is flexible, her natural nails have pretty much grown back to a regular nail shape. She has one or two nails that are still a little stubborn, but for the most part, ski slopes are GONE!

The opening picture above, is what her nails look like after Magic Manicure number 7. This would be 14 weeks after start.

You don't need new sets all of the time!

When you visit The Purple Pinkie and get a fabulous set of colored/glitter acrylic design nails, your full set is your initial investment of $50. It's $45 for the full set and $5 for the glitter. We then fill those nails for $24 or backfill to change the design for $29. We DO NOT request or require you to get a new full set like other salons. That is nothing more than a ploy to get more money out of you.

Here are some examples of nails that we have done and changed the designs on. The photo above is Kylie's initial set of nails with a gumball theme. Price would be $50 for initial set.

When we filled them, we just added acrylic to the regrowth area and added black accents, and Candy Drop nail art. Price would be $24 for fill and $5 for the 4 Candy Drops.

This time, we went with a whole different design. This is the layered stone design that uses colored acrylic, glitter acrylic, mylar and hand painted accents as well as Candy Drop art. Price would be $29 for this backfill and $5 for 4 Candy Drops.

After a few weeks, Kylie was tired of the design and wanted something simplier. We backfilled the nails and did a glitter fade with a custom black glitter mix and large irridescent glitter with hand painted hybiscus flowers. Price would be $29 for this backfill and $5 for the nail art.

So, moral of this post is, take care of your intial set and it will save you money in the long run. Don't be scammed by salons that require you to do new full sets all of the time. It is NOT necessary!

Nail Makeovers!

Are you a nail biter? Are you missing a toenail or part of it? Don't walk around in shame, let us help you!! We can transform your bitten nubs into nice nails and we can reconstruct a missing or damaged toenail!

Here are a couple of nail biters that we have applied full sets on. Now this "may" keep them from biting their nails since some people stop when they have product on their nail. They may also chew these suckers off, but while they are on, their nails look 100 times better. We will see how they do!

Here is an example of a damaged toenail that we were able to reconstruct with acrylic. We then did a set of fabulous glitter toes! Wendy was so happy!

So don't walk around ashamed of our hands and feet, let us transform them for you!

The Discovery Channel has Shark Week, which is wildly popular. The Purple Pinkie has Bling Week! Well, at least it seemed it this week. We were blining out everything! We've had so much fun with bling this week that we decided to continue it through July!

With the addition of the Magic Manicure to our Service Menu, we now have three levels of nails to offer our clients, who wish to come on a consistent basis. It can be confusing, deciding which service is best for you, so we have created a comparison.

Manicure - This is a service that maintains your natural nails. This service is best for people who have strong, natural nails or those who are not concerned with breaking a nail or growing their nails.

Magic Manicure - This service is a "step-up" from a manicure, since it gives your nails a little, extra-added strength and makes your polish last! You can still break nails, however, you won't break as many as you would with a Manicure and you will break more than if you have acrylic nails. This is a great service to help you grow your natural nails and not have to repolish your nails often.

Acrylic Nails - This service creates the strongest nails that we offer. You are able to add length. You also may break a nail occasionally, however, you break the least amount of nails with acrylic nails.

How to Have Beautiful Natural Nails

Beautiful, natural nails start with taking care of them. If your nails are peeling, they are most likely dry and dehydrated. This mainly comes from your hands being in a lot of water or in a lot of harsh, cleaning supplies. Most people never realize that your nails can become dehydrated from being in a lot of water, since water is hydrating. What happens, though, is that your nails are being stripped of their natural oils.

To solve this problem, two simple things will help. One, you should be using a cuticle oil at least once a day. It will help your natural nails replace the oils that they have lost. Two, you should wear gloves when your hands are in ANYTHING that you would never consider washing your face with. If you wouldn't put it on your face, it shouldn't be on your hands.

At the Purple Pinkie, we retail Haken oil. As you would expect, it is PURPLE! It also smells like the beach! Regular use of cuticle oil will not only replace oils, but it will keep your cuticles soft and help to diminish hang nails.

For those of you, who were not blessed with strong natural nails, you can use a system to help strengthen them. One of the biggest mistakes people make is that they overuse strengtheners. They are then left with dry, brittle nails, which is a whole new problem

We retail Zoom Nail Food system. It consists of Nail Eat, which is a strengthener and Nail Drink, which is a moisturizer. Depending on if your nails are soft and peeling or dry and brittle, you will start with whichever one you need. You will use it daily for two weeks, then switch to the other one. After four weeks, you will now be in the maintenance period, where you will use one daily for a week and then the other and keep on keeping on! This is one of the best products I have found that will allow you to grow beautiful, natural nails.

Most people aren't aware that if a Nail Tech doesn't have anyone in her chair, she doesn't get paid. If you have an appointment and you are not able to make it, you should give your tech as much notice as you can. Life throws you curves, we understand that, but there are just some people that just don't show up. We reserve the right to not book those people again.

Some clients are chronic reschedulers. They take up space in your book and constantly move their appointments, often leaving you with gaps that can never be filled. They then end up with appointments that are weeks after they should have had one and can't understand why their nails are a mess. We reserve the right to not rebook chronic reschedulers.

Please be on time. If you are late, it can throw the whole day off. Should the clients after you, who are on time, have to wait? If you are more than 15 minutes late, you appointment may be rescheduled or you may not receive a full service. We reserve the right to cancel standing appointments with people who are consistently late.

On the other side of this, don't come too early. If you are coming more than 10 minutes before your appointment, you are too early. Many techs schedule breaks throughout their day. If you come early, you may end up sitting, watching phone calls being made or lunch being eaten.

Please inform your technician, well in advance, if your appointment is going to involve something different than what you had scheduled. If you show up with your full set picked or chewed off, depending on the damage you've caused to your nails, you may not be able to get another set. You may have to settle for a manicure, which requires less time.

Basic common courtesy is the key. Ninety nice percent of clients have it, it's the other one percent that throws a professional's schedule all off.

Do you really have gel nails?

We have been getting a lot of people asking if we fill gel nails. After some questions, it is determined that these people DO NOT have gel nails, they have acrylic nails with a gel top coat. These salons are purposely misleading the client and charging them more for a service they are not getting.

If you truly have gel nails, you will know. Gel is in a pot and looks like really thick hair gel. It is clear, translucent pink or white and you don't mix anything. Your technician will put a layer of gel on and you will have to put your hand into a ultra violet light. She will apply two to three layers of the gel, placing your hand into the light between layers.

If your technician takes a brush and puts it into a liquid and then into a powder, this is not gel. This is liquid and powder acrylic. Most technicians will finish pink and white or pink and glitter tip acrylic nails with a gel top coat. This top coat will stay shiny until it is filed off.

Applying a gel top coat to a set of nails does not make it a set of gel nails.

Caring for Your Acrylic Nails

Acrylic nails are wonderful, however, the success that you have with them is up to YOU and your at home care. Too often I encounter people who have acrylics that do not take care of them and it creates more work for their technician as well as limits their ability to fully enjoy having beautiful nails.

First, quit picking and playing with them. So often I can tell that someone is picking their nails. It's like the dental hygienist knows if you haven't flossed. I will see someone picking right if front of me and say something only to hear "That's not picking!". Ah, yes it is. Picking, is picking at edges, running your nail under the free edge, separating the nail from the acrylic, all of the above.

Next, keep them out of your mouth! Quit chewing on them! Do you realize that 85% of people have feces under their nails at any given time? It's like having a "Poopsicle" in your mouth!

If you get lifting or lose a nail, for goodness sakes, DON'T glue it! If you trap bacteria between the nail and the acrylic, you WILL get a greenie, which is a bacterial infection. Call to have your nail repaired. If you can't get in to get it repaired, keep the lifting dry or but a band aid on the finger.

You MUST use oil daily. Period. You will FAIL with acrylic nails if you do not oil daily. I do not state this just to sell you oil, heck for two years I gave everyone oil to prove how important it is. Oiling keeps your acrylic flexible. It keeps it from drying out. It keeps your natural nail from curing away from the acrylic. Oil should be applied to cuticles and under the free edge at least twice a day, especially right before bed.

Ask yourself......Is my acrylic brittle, is the free edge of the natural nail pulling away from the acrylic, do my cuticles look crusty? If so, you aren't using enough oil!!

Finally, you MUST wear rubber gloves when your hands are in any harsh cleaning products. A good rule of thumb is if you wouldn't wash your face with it, you should be wearing gloves. Bleaches and cleaners will breakdown the acrylic. I am talking RUBBER gloves, not the latex gloves. If you are wearing latex, you may as well wear nothing. Don't forget gloves when gardening as well!

In conclusion, don't pick, don't chew, don't glue. Wearing acrylic nails and not oiling daily or wearing gloves when cleaning or gardening is like getting $500 of dental work done, then never brushing your teeth again.

Is Your Nail Salon Safe?

Is your salon safe??Do you have rings of fire? The picture at the left shows a nail that has a "ring of fire". It was damaged by a person using an electric file improperly.

You should never feel burning and a new sanding band should be used on every client. Electric files are safe when a properly trained, technician uses it, ask for their certification!

It's your safety! Know what you SHOULD expect and expect NO LESS!

Do you have MMA (Dental Acrylic) on your nails?

Why should MMA not be used?

There are four main reasons:

MMA nail products do not adhere well to the nail plate. To make these products adhere, nail technicians often shred up (etch) the surface of the nail. This thins the nail plate and makes it weaker.

MMA creates the hardest and most rigid nail enhancements, which makes them very difficult to break. When jammed or caught, the overly filed and thinned natural nail plate will often break before the MMA enhancement, leading to serious nail damage.

MMA is extremely difficult to remove. Since it will not dissolve in product removers, it is usually pried from the nail plate, creating still more damage.

The FDA says don't use it! This is clearly the most important reason. The FDA bases their prohibition on the large number of consumer complaints resulting from the use of MMA nail enhancements in the late 70's and they continue to maintain this position today.

MMA is a widely used monomer with a long history of safe use in medical and dental products. It is fine for making bulletproof windows and shatterproof eyeglasses. However, we believe that artificial nails should not only be beautiful, they should not damage the natural nail. They are enhancements, not replacements!

We also believe it is the responsibility of all professional nail technicians to protect the health of their client's natural nails. How do you know if your salon or technician is using MMA?

MMA has an unusually strong or strange odor which doesn't smell like other acrylic liquids. Odor is present during application and when filing cured product (for fill-ins or repairs).

Enhancements which are extremely hard and very difficult to file even with coarse abrasives.

Enhancements that will not soak off in solvents designed to remove acrylics.

Cloudy or milky color when cured. Severe yellowing will appear after a couple of weeks.Additional warning signs though less definitive:

Low price of fills and full sets (MMA cost 1/3 of EMA)

Dust or ventilation masks used (many technicians use dust masks today who do not use MMA)

Unlabeled containers - technician will not show or tell the client what brand of product is being used.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations or rescheduling of appointments must be made with a minimum of 6 hours notice. If the appointment is canceled with less than 6 hours notice, you will be charged 50% of the price of the service. No shows will be charged full rate. Fee must be paid before new appointment is made.

Returned Check Policy
There is a $25 service charge for all returned checks, no matter what the reason.

Arrival Time
To ensure that all clients stay on schedule, please arrive on time or a few minutes early for your appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, your service will be shortened or your appointment will be rescheduled and Cancellation Fees may apply.

Please try to arrive, no more than 15 minutes before your appointment time. We sometimes schedule breaks to eat or stretch and would hate to have to sit and watch us do this!

Children in the Salon
This is your time to relax, so for your comfort and the comfort of others, please make other appropriate childcare arrangements. Children should only be in the salon if they are receiving a service and must be supervised at all times. We have a lot of chemicals that little fingers should NOT touch. If you must bring your child with you, children must be supervised by an adult not getting a service, at all times, so please make sure you bring someone else with you.

You don't have to be a professional artist to do great nail art designs. Most designs I do in the salon are simple and can be completed in less than two minutes.

ACRYLIC PAINTS
I just use the cheap paints. I purchase the empty pots in the craft section and fill them with paint. When they get gunky, just throw them away and fill new pots. You can do most nail art with these 8 colors. You can very easily mix other colors.

BRUSHES
I use very few brushes. I love this set of nail art brushes that I got. I use the first one the most. These can be purchased from Atwood Industries.

SUNFLOWER
STEP 1 Scribble in brown for the centers of the sunflowers
STEP 2 While brown is still wet, scribble in some orange on one side of each center
STEP 3 With yellow, add petals around the centers
STEP 4 With orange, apply small dots around where the center and petals meet
STEP 5 With green add leaves, with white add shine to the center and veins to leaves

ROSE
STEP 1 Scribble in pink for the background of the roses
STEP 2 Add dark pink dots to the centers of the roses
STEP 3 Add dark pink swooshes around the dots
STEP 4 Add leaves with green
STEP 5 Thin white paint and add veins

LILAC
STEP 1 Dot in lilacs with dark purple
STEP 2 Add lavender dots to one side of the lilacs
STEP 3 Add white dots to top of the lavender dots
STEP 4 Add leaves with green
STEP 5 Thin white paint and add veins

CONE FLOWER
STEP 1 With orange, make an oval
STEP 2 With orange, pull down a "v" to form flower, make three
STEP 3 With white, add a "c" to top of each flower
STEP 4 With white add a line down the one side of each flower
STEP 5 With green, add leaves, with white add veins

SNOWMAN
STEP 1 Scribble in white for the snow bank
STEP 2 With white, add three circles to form the snowman
STEP 3 With blue, add scarf
STEP 4 With orange add nose
STEP 5 With black add hat, twig arms, face, buttons an detail to the snow bank

HEART DESIGN
STEP 1 With white, add three white swooshes
STEP 2 Using your stylus or paint brush end, add two circles of pink
STEP 3 While pink is still wet, pull down the paint in the center of the two circles
STEP 4 Complete three hearts
STEP 5 Thin white paint and add shine to the center of the heats and dot details

SHAMROCK
STEP 1 With green and your stylus or end of paint brush, make two circles

The regrowth area of your nail is blended and fresh acrylic is applied to that area. This 60 minute service is required on all acrylic nails every 2 weeks.

ACRYLIC BACKFILL $29.00
The regrowth area of your nail is blended and fresh acrylic is applied to that area and the smile lines are moved back on French or Funky Glitter French Nails. This service also allows you to change out your color/design on Rockstar Glitter sets. This 60 minute service is equired every other fill.

GLITTER TOES $35.00
Pure glitter, encased between two layers of gel. This 30 minute service lasts up to 4-6 weeks. Choose from solid colors, fades and Neons! This is our #1 toe service!!

SPA MANICURE $15.00
Enjoy the aroma of the Pomegranite scrub with the warmth of a steamed towel. This 30 minute service includes cuticle care, massage and polish of choice.

POLISH CHANGE $9.00
Enjoy a fresh, new change of color. This 20 minute service is for fingers or toes. This service does not include cuticle care or shaping, which are included in the Spa Manicure and Mini or Spa Pedicure Service.

MAGIC MANICURE $25
Give your nails a little extra added strength and make your polish last! Choose from French, Color, Glitter or Neon Glitters. This 60 minute service allows your polish to last for 2 weeks, possibly more! This is our newest service!!!

SPA PEDICURE $35.00
The best treat for your feet. This 45 minute service includes a soak, scrub, mask, massage, cuticle care as well as polish of your choice.

MINI PEDICURE $18.00
Recommended 2-3 weeks after spa pedicure to refresh feet and polish. This 30 minute service includes soak, trimming, cuticle care and polish.

REMOVAL SERVICES $20.00
Safely removes artificial product from nails or toes. This 60 minute service also includes a mini manicure or pedicure. This service is $10 when combined with another service when switching to a different type of nail or removing nails from another salon and getting a new set.

PARTY NAILS $25
For a night on the town, weddings or proms, extend your natural nails temporarily. This 60 minute service lasts 2-4 weeks. You can get these nails with Gel and Glitter and a design for $10 more.

NAIL ART $3.00 and up
Hand painted nail art, expertly created on your nail for your personal enjoyment usually on both ring fingers. Price is per nail and is determined by design. Reasonable nail art is included with full sets of acrylic nails, fills and backfills.

Rhonda's Nail Rules

Treat your nails as jewels, not tools.
Wear gloves when cleaning or gardening.
Do not pick acrylic nails off, have them soaked off. When you pick them off, you take a layer of your natural nail with the acrylic, this makes your natural nail very weak. Acrylic does not ruin your nails. Improperly removing acrylic does.
If you break a nail, do not glue, you run the risk of trapping bacteria on your natural nail and you will end up with a "greenie".
Electric files are safe for use on your nails, as long as your technician is trained to use them. You should never experience heat, blood or the dreaded ring of fire.
Use Solar Oil every day, it hydrates the nail to help prevent the natural nail from "curling" away from the acrylic.
Use care when trimming your toe nails, most trim them too short and trim corners incorrectly, resulting in ingrown toe nails.
Your nails are like library books, please don't return them damaged!
Wearing acrylic nails and not wearing gloves or using oil every day is like getting $500 of dental work done and never brushing your teeth again!
When cleaning, ask yourself "Would I wash my face with that?", if the answer is NO, then you should be wearing gloves!
